Melbourne Planning Strategy Survey

The State Government is proposing to introduce a new planning blueprint for Melbourne to manage the growth for the next 30 to 40 years and has appointed an Advisory Committee, chaired by Professor Roz Hansen, to develop a planning strategy.

The Committee has produced a booklet, “Melbourne let’s talk about the future” and has called for submissions from all sections of our community. We are certain that those who have a vested interest in the housing industry will make strong submissions for continued growth that will favour their activities so we are looking for an equally strong response from the residents of Melbourne. Other community groups across Melbourne are currently conducting similar surveys.

Please provide your views in this qualitative survey and return to DADA. We will carefully collate the results and forward your views to both the Minister for Planning and the Advisory Committee.

You may wish to download the booklet from www.planmelbourne.vic.gov.au or go to www.planmelbourne.vic.gov.au/discussion-paper and lodge your own submission or the last page of this survey may be used to make your own personal comments.

Write as much or as little as you like to some or all the questions. Please use a different typeface for your answers.

DADA Letters

Morning DADA folk,

At Tuesday’s meeting I was given the go ahead to send of 2 letters on behalf of DADA.

Letter 1 – Against VCAT Fee Increase

One is a submission relating to the proposed increase in VCAT fees. I adapted an example from the Malvern East Group, thanks to them for sharing.
Submission to the VCAT Fee Review [PDF]

Letter 2 – Oppose Sacking of Darebin Council

The second request our council not be sacked post the impending ombudsman’s report. Again, thanks to Jane Morton from Darebin community network for her letter.
Honourable Jeanette Powell [PDF]

There is still time to make your own submission on both of these issues.

Thanks,

Maria

57 Station Street Fairfield Objection

Dear DADA Friends,

Attached is a request from the good people who live near 57 Station Street, Fairfield where another outrageous development is on the drawing board.

If you can help by filling out an objection (link below), you only need to add your name and address, and sending in the attached objection form it would be greatly appreciated.

The time line is extremely short on this one, funny that, so I suggest an emailed objection if you can.

Thanks,

Maria DADA

Darebin Council Plan Survey

Hi DADA friends,

In 2012 Darebin Council had a go at developing a plan through some flawed workshops and attempts at consultation.

They have gone back to the drawing board and we can again have our say, this time via the survey at the link below.

Here’s the link to the Council plan survey (and actually a bit on the process too:

http://www.darebin.vic.gov.au/Page/Page.aspx?Page_Id=9806

Be heard locally by having your say and please send on the link to your friends and networks.

Thanks,

Maria
