DADA lodges Heritage Victoria application to Save Preston Market!

On Monday 2 July 2018, DADA was proud to lodge an application to Heritage Victoria to request that the Preston Market be heritage listed. This is an important milestone in the campaign to Save Preston Market and recognition of the importance and significance of the Preston Market to the Victorian community. We will keep you up to date with the submission’s progress.

A new suburb in Preston East – Northland Urban Renewal Precinct

Darebin Council is calling for input on this proposal.

They say: Over the next 30 years part of Preston East – bordered by Albert and Bell Streets, Northland Shopping Centre and the Darebin Creek – will transform from large industrial sites into creative, vibrant, walkable, sustainable neighbourhoods.

… which could house up to 20,000 residents in the future – half of Darebin’s forecast population growth.
