High Street Study – Precinct Guidelines

Darebin City Council

High Street Study – Precinct Guidelines

Precinct Profile – Area 11 The Junction

The High Street Precinct Guidelines apply the strategies identified in the Urban Design Framework to the study area in detail, resulting in a set of guidelines for each precinct within the study area. The guidelines outline the key objectives, vision, preferred outcomes and specific implementation mechanisms for each precinct within the study area. Please note: There may be difficulty downloading the document due to the file size.

Please contact Planning on (03) 8470 8465

The High Street Precinct Guidelines may be downloaded individually.

Precinct Profile – Area 3 Westgarth North

This Precinct has no frontage to High St. Its properties therefore have more in common with those behind the properties facing High St, which are considered to be adequately covered by the current zoning and urban character controls.

Say NO to the eight and ten storey Northcote Plaza Towers

Darebin Appropriate Development Association

DADA’s objectives are to stop inappropriate developments in Darebin.

We are not ANTI development however we feel that there needs to be some perspective in this matter.

The reason why people move to Darebin is because of the village feel and the sense of community. Allowing high rise developments will detract from this as well as placing a burden on the already over stretched Public Transport system as well as increasing traffic and parking problems.

Council regulations seems to make no difference as developers appeal to VCAT to get what they want.
