Preston Market Update: The VPA finally release recommendations on the future of Preston Market

The following Age article outlines the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) recommendations, not in line with community expectations, based on sham consultations and pro over development.

The key thing to note is that these are not planning provisions and can be ignored by VCAT. Unless there are strong heritage and planning controls the market will not be safe from over development.

The only hope for the market and the site is for Darebin Council to acquire it and develop as open space.
